Experience and participation design is about making people feel safe and giving them agency to have a great time.
But what if we told you that the same tool set can be used for evil? That it is possible to manipulate and change the way you feel about basically anything without you even noticing you are being played?
Bjarke will take you through a series of evil designs that will teach you that you you can’t trust anybody – not even yourself.
Bjarke Pedersen is the creative director of Odyssé. His primary work is designing participatory events and experiences with a focus on storytelling. In the last fifteen years he has worked on projects ranging from transmedia storytelling for television, to real-world participatory games with more than 10.000 people playing at the same time.
Bjarke has lectured on participatory design and culture at New York University, Bard College, Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten and at conferences, art festivals and educational institutions across Europe and the USA.
